Dancing in Boston by Megan Dandeles Photography

Greetings sweet readers,

So I am a huge fan of themed engagement shoots. You know the type with props and meaningful items, they always look very personal and evoke such feeling.

However, somtimes I think just taking a walk, enjoying coffee and dancing in the park under willow trees to the sound of street musicians is magical.

This engagement session by Megan Dandeles takes my breath away. Downtown Boston in October is the setting for these two loves. Newbury street to Boston Common and a Starbucks in between sounds like an afternoon full of love.

From Christine, the bride to be:

“My fiancé Sheldon and I love Boston and knew that the gorgeous parks and architecture would make the perfect backdrop for our engagement session.  On a crisp fall day we ventured out into the city with our photographer, Megan Dandeles, and spent a fabulous afternoon together.

Our favorite moment from the e-session happened when we were about to say our goodbyes to Megan. We heard a trumpet in the distance and decided we had to find where the music was coming from. We found the musician by the pond under some willow trees and asked if he’d play us a song, that’s when he began “only you”, and while serenaded we danced in the park. It was a fabulous ending to a great day.

We’re so lucky to be working with such a talented photographer. Seriously, If Megan can turn a day in the city into this, I can’t even imagine how spectacular our wedding pictures will be!”

Christine’s outfits came from Anthropologie, Silence & Noise, H&M, Shoes: Dolce Vita

Sheldon’s outfits came from Kenneth Cole, Marc Ecko, Buffalo David Biton, Shoes: Kenneth Cole, Aldo

Thank you so much Megan Dandeles Photography for sharing this day with us. Congratulations to Christine and Sheldon, I cant wait to see the wedding pictures!

xoxo

Texas Engagement Session by Kristin Nicole Photography

Greetings sweet readers,

I have been so excited to share these pictures with you. I think its appropriate to showcase an engagement session today. After all, some of you will be getting engaged tonight!

These two are just so cute! Alyssa’s dress is on my “go get it right now” list. I just love the light and location. Alyssa and Blake are so obviously in love. Just wait till you read their engagement story. So sweet I can’t stand it. But who could resist a guy in cowboy boots! I can’t, love you hun.

All captured beautifully by Kristin Nicole Photography.

Engagement story from the bride;

“During spring break of our senior year of college, we spent the week at my parents house in Fort Worth.  In my parents neighborhood there is a walking path running along a small creek and lots of trees. Blake and I frequently ran along this path when we were in town.  On the day of our engagement, Blake had set up three posts with flyer holders along this path.  As we ran by each one we stopped to see what was inside.  The first flyer said “Spring Break Give Away! For female runners only! $25 gift card to Starbucks redeemable at the end of the path.”  I became extremely excited as one of my favorite places is Starbucks! We continued along the path and the next flyer read “Spring Break Give Away! For male runners only! $25 gift card to Best Buy redeemable at the end of the path.”  At this point I was a little skeptical but Blake told me that we might as well see if it was for real because had nothing to loose.  The final flyer read “Spring Break Give Away! For couple runners only! To win the GRAND PRIZE follow these instructions exactly, in order to win.”  At the bottom of the final post were several Phiten brand necklaces. The instructions stated for the female runner to wrap a necklace around the ankle of the male runner and then for the male runner to wrap one around the ankle of the female runner.  I wrapped one around Blake’s ankle and then he got down on one knee to wrap one around mine.  Once he was on one knee he looked up at me and started his proposal.  The really sweet part about it was that he incorporated sign language into the proposal.  Sign language is a language that I studied throughout high school as well as college.  Blake has never studied the language but received tutoring in order to pull this off beautifully.  I said YES! Luckily and ever so secretively his parents caught tons of pictures and the whole thing on video! Blake had planned a dinner afterwards with family.  It was so sweet to celebrate with everyone on the happiest day of my life.”

Congratulations you two!

Alyssa and Blake will be married on May 26th 2012  Azle, Texas at The Orchard.

An Engagement Story Worth Telling, by Deborah Zoe

Greetings sweet readers,

I have always thought it would be so amazing for your engagement photos to retrace your steps to your actual engagement. So, in an effort to ‘keep it real’, here’s how my photo shoot would go if I were to recreate my engagement…. first, I would be far too busy to take a ”drive”. I would ultimately be won over.  Then he would lead me to the ranch where we met and, with a speech that was very well rehearsed in a room that is 100 years old, he would ask me to spend the rest of his life with him. This is about the time where I start bawling. And then I realize that it is in fact April 1st to which Hubby (now fiance) spends the next 5 minutes reassuring me that this in fact, is NOT a joke…. Some might say it’s not so ‘photo-worthy’ but we think it is perfect because it is our experience.

When I saw these photos of Lisa & Brian I thought, now here is a couple that has a “relive it” worthy engagement story. I love the way they look at each other; such obvious love. Fenway Park,  the Boston Public Library, then onto Copley Square so that this running couple (affectionately called “Brisa”), could be photographed by the Boston Marathon finish line.  Apropos, as Brian proposed at the end of a marathon.  Finishing the day at the City Bar where the couple first met, to enjoy some drinks and relax after a fun day of retracing the steps of their love story. Perfection. Photographed by Deborah Zoe.

Brian and Lisa were married this past July in Maine. They now reside in Boston. Deborah Zoe’s amazing lens artistry can be seen here. Thanks Brian and Lisa for sharing your story with us. Congrats – and thanks for the aisle candy!

Also, don’t forget to pick your favorite and enter to win our Minted give a way here.

Lovely Engagement Session by KT Merry

What a great way to kick off the weekend! An engagement session photographed by one of the “Top 20 Rising Stars in Wedding Photography” PDN Magazine. So I am sure its no secret: I am a huge fan of KT Merry. She has captured this amazing couple and all their sweetness!  Jaclyn and Patrick are such a cute couple, aren’t they? Patrick is so tall, I am fond of tall as my husband is 6’6. I also fell in love with Jaclyn’s turquoise dress.

This is what the bride to be had to say about their engagement.

“When my fiancé asked me to marry him, I was so surprised that I didn’t say anything.  He slid the ring on my finger while I just stared back blankly.  I finally shouted, “Yes!”  and admired my ring and my new, soon- to-be husband.   I later learned that he had hidden the ring hidden in our apartment for a full month.  He jokingly said that he just put it in a tall cabinet knowing I would never find it (he is a full foot taller than me) but I think this is what actually happened.

Both native east-coasters, we moved to California together over two years ago and haven’t shoveled a single sidewalk since.   We decided to plan a small and intimate wedding in Southern California to celebrate our marriage with our closest friends and family.  While it hasn’t been easy planning a wedding so far away from our families, we are very blessed to have a great support network here and have met some wonderful and extremely talented vendors, our photographer included!”

You can see ALL the sweetness on KT Merry’s blog, here. Congratulations Jaclyn and Patrick. Thank you for sharing your story with us. All the best to you both!

xoxo
