Greetings sweet readers,
Last month I had the pleasure of visiting with KT Merry for the weekend. We had a wonderful time laughing, running (KT is a wicked fast runner), eating, and giving eachother a good dose of inspiration. I was also able to accompany her on an engagement shoot (more of that to come later) and she taught me to roll film. I am now the fastest film roller in the west… unofficially. I am still waiting for the award to be mailed. On to more pressing matters.
KT is so passionate about her work and it shows. I adore how beautifully Chad and KT work together (they are a husband wife team, check out their wedding here). They are a testament to how strong couples can be so much better together in all aspects of life. I am a firm believer that you can have an amazing wedding, and your vendors can make it sink or swim. KT takes swimming to Olympic levels every time. I guess its no secret that we love KT here at Aisle-candy, she was the inspiration behind our banner image. You can see that wedding here, and this oh so lovely Maui bridal session. This wedding at Gasparilla Inn is pretty amazing if I do say so myself. Shannon and Jonathan’s Florida beach wedding is a perfect mix of glamor and laid back style dont you think?
From the bride:
“Jonathan grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated from a small college in Ohio, Denison. Shannon was raised in Panama City, Florida and graduated from Florida State University. We both moved to Naples in 2005. Jonathan was living next door to my sister, Amanda and her husband, Clint. One casual night, Jonathan and two friends had stopped next door for a friendly visit, and coincidently I was visiting too. Having also just moved to Naples, we immediately had a connection. For the next year we were close friends and then eventually started dating. Its funny how certain relationships grow into more than “just friends” without plan or notice. At least that was the case in our friendship! Gasparilla Island was the destination of our first weekend getaway! We fell in love with the “Old Florida” style of Boca Grande. Saturday night during our first stay at the inn, we sat on our outside balcony watching and listening to guests from a wedding filter back into the inn. Everyone was having such a great time and we joked that if we ever got married, Boca Grande and the Gasparilla Inn was perfect! Almost 5 years later, we found ourselves lounging again on that very same balcony….watching and listening to our own wedding guests. After months of planning, debating, crafting, questioning, and perfecting all the different details for the big day; in the end, your wedding day arrives, glitches happen ~ its inevitable, the wedding is amazing, the reception is a blast, and its all over in a blink. Take time to enjoy and appreciate every moment of each step, and especially the people who are there supporting you throughout!”
Congratulations Shannon and Jonathan! Many happy years to you.
