Greetings sweet readers,
Ok so you all know that I am a bit obsessed with film. Not like in a fatal attraction kind of way (incidentally I have never seen that movie) but I seriously love it. See some of my favs here, and here. I was so excited when this little beauty came to me via Krystle Akin Photography. The Culberson House in Texas was the backdrop for Robin and Nick’s gorgeous day. I think you are going to want to sit down for this one.
From the bride:
“In the fall of 2010 I went back to college, where I graduated the previous year, for the weekend to help with my sorority’s fall recruitment. Nick, who was a senior at the time, and I had never met at this point even though we had gone to college together. A couple of my sorority sisters and I went out on Friday night and the parking lot to the bar we went to was completely full except for 2 small parking spots next to each other at the front. One of my sorority sisters insisted I just park there because it’s not like 2 cars would be able to fit in the space anyway. Upon leaving the bar we discovered a note on my windshield. Needless to say it said some not very nice things about my parking job and the girls and I just laughed it off. One of the girls then suggested we go to her friend’s house that happened to belong to Nick. Once we arrived Nick said he was at the same bar we were so the girls and I bring up the note. It turns out Nick is who wrote the famous angry note. After an apology and a lot of laughing the rest is history! The note became the first of many Nick has given me … only the rest of them are very nice notes!
A year and nine months later we were in Italy celebrating Nick’s grandparent’s 50th wedding anniversary. One night on our trip Nick and I decided to go to dinner together at one of our favorite places we had seen so far. After dinner we took a walk where the trees made a tunnel over the street and fireflies lit up the trees. Just as we had walked out of the tunnel Nick got down on one knee and proposed!
I knew I wanted the “big southern wedding” I had always imagined of having. Krystle Akin, our photographer, was SO amazing to work with and captured even the smallest of details! The Culberson house provided the perfect backdrop for an outdoor ceremony. I chose Tiffany Blue as my main color since I’ve loved it for years and wanted touches of pink. For the ceremony we focused more on the pink side of things with thousands of real rose petals on each side of the aisle as well as pale pink hydrangeas hung on shepherds’ hooks. The alter was flanked by two columns of flowing hydrangeas, roses, lilies, larkspur and peonies and my bouquet consisted of large pink peonies. The reception completely blew me away! Dale Vaughan, who was my florist and coordinator, wanted the reception to be a complete surprise so I didn’t see the finished product until Nick and I were introduced at the reception! The ballroom tables were covered with Tiffany Blue with cream silk overlays and the table centerpieces varied between tall lighted vases with large feather artichokes and floral arrangements with hydrangeas, roses, lilies and peonies. A chandelier lighted silk canopy draped the dance floor and our monogram enhanced one wall of the ballroom. Nick and I had the time of our lives celebrating with our families and friends!”

xoxo

I think you forgot to capture the table presentations in a wedding venue. Where the artistic and creative imagination of a wedding designers apply.
